Overview

Mbowa Design Lab worked with the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office and The Research Company to design the National Plan of Action for Children in Eswatini 2023–2027 — a 67-page A4 publication.

The brief

The plan sets out how government and its partners will protect and support every child in Eswatini over five years. It had to carry dense policy, objectives and a full results framework — yet stay clear enough for ministries, development partners and communities to read and act on.

Our approach

We built a calm, consistent layout system: a clear type hierarchy, generous margins and one colour-coded thread for the thematic areas. Objectives became diagrams, and the results framework became readable tables and charts instead of walls of text.

The outcome

A 67-page reference document with the authority of a national plan and the readability of a guide — one that readers can navigate quickly, cite with confidence and return to throughout the plan’s five years.
